Blogger Gadgets

One of the cool things about Blogger is that you can add gadgets! Gadgets are tools that you can add to your blog page that have different features that dependent on what they're meant for.
The gadgets I have include:
  •  Voki Avatar
  •  Like Traffic Feed
  •  Text
  • Poll
  • Blog Archive
Each of these have  a different purpose.
The Voki says whatever I want it to.
My Live Traffic Feed shows me anyone and everyone who has visited my blog.
The text is something you can add that can say whatever you want it to. I have a "Quote of the Week."
Poll are so you can ask people questions will multiple answer, and have them vote.
My blog archive allows people to find any of my blog posts that I have ever posted.

You can add a text, a poll, almost anything.

To add a gadget follow theses steps:
  1. Click "Design" in the top right corner
  2. Click "Layout" on the left
  3. Click "Add a Gadget" and add whatever you want!

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is a useful website that lets you take your favorite website and add them all onto one page. You can change the background, change the themes and titles for your tiles, and explore other's webmixes as well.

You can add almost any website to to your page. If you click on a tile, it will open up another tab, and take you to the website you clicked on. Some website, like New York Times, will just give you updates in the center. You can add a profile too.

You give your name, can add a profile picture, and even tell a little about yourself. On you profile page, it will tell you people who have saved your webmixes, who is following you, and who you are following.
You can keep you post private, or keep to yourself.

Voki

Voki is a free site that gives you speaking avatars. You can record your voice, type in what you want them to say. If you don't have a microphone on your computer, you can call the website, and record your voice that way. They will say anything as long as it is under ninety seconds. You can choose different avatars that range from people, to animals, to smiley-faces, and even mythical creatures!

When you make a Voki there are many changes you can make. You can change their hair, and eyes color, but you can also change their features. Say, you fell the nose is too big. You can make it smaller! You can even dajust the width and length of its head. You can also add bling, change its clothing, and change the background. there are stills, and moving backgrounds. You can also change the voice. You can give it different accents, and even add FX effects. Give it a chipmunk voice!

You can simply make these, or add them to a blog!
To add them to your blog you must click the green "Publish Your Blog" button under your Voki. Then, you copy the link given. After, you go to your blog, and click "Design." When you get to design, click "Layout," and then add a gadget. Scroll down until you see "HTML/JavaScript" click on it, and paste the link you copied earlier into the big box. After this, you should be able to save your arrangements, and click "View Blog" where it will appear wherever you placed it.

I think this website is highly useful, and quite fun. It was cool to be able to go throughout the site, and make different Voki's with different voices, and looks.

Have a nice day! -Anna

How I Use the Internet

My favorite website to visit is www.pottermore.com
It is very entertaining and interactive website for Pure-bloods, and Muggle-borns, alike!

Here, you can explore Hogwarts itself, taking trips to the Great Hall, your Common Room, and even Diagon Alley!

On Pottermore, you can go through the chapters of each book and live the books the way Harry, and J.K. Rowling envisioned.
Here, you take a test showing your wand type, your Hogwarts house, and once you've been sorted, you can brew potions, and have duels to earn points for your house to win the House Cup!
